Start young and keep going

While there's no minimum age for flying training, you must be at least 16 before flying solo, 17 before you can hold a Private Pilots Licence and 18 years old for the Commercial Pilots Licence. There is no maximum age restriction for the Private Licence. While there are no formal educational requirements necessary to begin flying training, some maths or science training will be helpful.

Starting with no aviation experience at all, you can graduate from our 200 hour CPL course within 12 months full time. Smartair's instructors are active and experienced charter pilots, airmen who understand the industry and are trained to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of pilots.

As a qualified Commercial Pilot, your first job could be anything from Aerial Photography, Freight, Scenic Flights, Charter Flights and even flying instruction upon completion of a Flight Instructors course. Our CPL syllabus is designed to prepare you for this by giving you access to a variety of general aviation aircraft that are widely used in the industry to this day.
